Mike of Zule zoo has died.
Until his death, he was one of two crew members that made up Zule Zoo music group.
Mike Aboh, as he was known died of a protracted illness. He was to be 44 in August.
Zule Zoo, which was comprised of the late Micheal Aboh and Al-Hassan Ibrahim, came into limelight after the success of their smash hit, ‘Kerewa’, which was banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC, for obscene content was the delight of many music lover in Nigeria in the early 2000s.
But for anything, Zule Zoo would be remembered for popularizing a genre of music known as the Takuruku beat which projected Nigerian culture through creativity in lyrical composition and innovative use of African percussion instrument.
