A nine-year-old boy from Pennsylvania identified as David Balogun, has become the second youngest individual to ever graduate from high school at such a tender age.
David who was enrolled at Reach Cyber Charter School in Harrisburg shortly before the infamous Coronavirus pandemic in early 2020 graduated with an astounding GPA of over 4.0, less than three years later.
Although the lad attended classes remotely, his mother —Ronya, has said it wasn’t easy to raise a kid of such potential.
“Playing pillow fights when you’re not supposed to, throwing balls in the house.
“He’s a nine-year-old with a brain that just has the capacity to understand and comprehend a lot of concepts that are beyond his years – and sometimes beyond my understanding,” Ronya said.
David also shared his experiences when speaking to WGAL.
The nine-year-old pacesetter said: “(The school) didn’t bog me down.
“They also advocated for me, saying “He can do this, he can do that.”
“I want to be an astrophysicist, and I want to study black holes and supernovas.”
With David now set to study Astrophysics, his parents are on the lookout for colleges and universities across the country that’ll enhance his speedy growth.
David was three years away from breaking the record set in 1990 by six-year-old Michael Kearney, despite finishing high school before the age of ten.
