A supposed military attack on a bandits hideout in Katsina State went south as they missed their target and ended up killing innocent civilians.
The attack on their hideout was ordered after Commissioner of Police, ACP, Aminu Umar, was killed by bandits on Tuesday.
The attack which was carried out in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, left an unknown number of persons dead.
For now, it is not clear how many people lost their lives as the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Isah Gambo could not be reached.
Katsina State has been one of the states most affected by the bandits, with many killed and many others kidnapped.
