Kastina State Governor, Aminu Masari believes the endorsement of Labour Party’s Presidential candidate — Peter Obi by former President Olusegun Obasanjo doesn’t have any influence on Nigerians, saying the latter can’t even influence his family members’ decisions.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate — Bola Ahmed Tinubu, according to him, has greater political credentials than the former president.
In an interview with TVC, Masari made this statement in response to a query on the significance of Obasanjo’s support for Obi.
Recall that Obasanjo had openly endorsed Peter Obi as the country’s next president in his open letter to Nigerians on the 1st of January, 2023.
However, Masari believes the endorsement doesn’t hold any water, saying Obasanjo can’t convince his family members, yet alone the country.
His statement reads: “Obasanjo cannot sway members of his family let alone sway the nation. Everybody has served, Let’s bring their credentials of service to their people; to the country and be honest and objective, who has more credentials? But for me, when you put them on the table, I will pick Asiwaju,” he declared.
