Manchester City are weighing up a shock bid for want away Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba.
The former Juventus midfielder’s contract will run out at Old Trafford this summer and he’s rumored to prefer remaining in England.
If City do sign him, it will just be as acrimonious as the 2009 season that saw Carlos Tevez make the switch from the Red side of Manchester to the Blue side.
City are in need of a midfielder but still consider Barcelona’s De Jong as too expensive, especially if they acquire the services of highly rated Nowergian, Erling Haaland, from Borussia Dortmund.
Although City may be getting the French star on a free, they will be willing to offer him an irresistible deal to persuade him to make the switch across town.
If Pogba does leave, he will be leaving Manchester United for a second time after rejoining the club for a then world record transfer fee of £89million in 2016.
Pogba, if he signs, will hope to fill the void that is likely to be left by captain Fernandinho, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
