Manchester United have acquired the services of Lisandro Martínez from Dutch Champions, Ajax.
The Argentine defender completed his £56.7m move on Monday afternoon, becoming the third summer signing for the Red Devils.
The diminutive 24-year-old can play centre back, left back and also in central midfield.
The player expressed his joy in hooking up with Erik ten Hag again. The new Manchester United manager signed Martínez for the eredivise side back in 2019.
“It’s an honour to join this great football club,” Martinez said. “I’ve worked so hard to get to this moment and now that I’m here I’m going to push myself even further,” He said.
The versatile Martínez who signed a 5 year contract at Old Trafford added, “I’ve been lucky enough to be part of successful teams in my career and that’s what I want to continue at Manchester United. There will be a lot of work to get to that moment, but I firmly believe that under this manager and coaches, and together with my new teammates, we can do it.
