Paris Saint Germain (PSG) unbeaten start to the second came to an end after they lost second place Lens 3-1 in a Ligue 1 round 17 fixture on Sunday night.
The French league Champions were without seven time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi who is still absent after winning the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in Qatar last month.
Brazil international, Neymar was also missing as he took permission to attend the funeral service of football icon Pele who passed away last Thursday.
Second place Lens had a fast start in the encounter as Polish Frankowski put the host in the lead with just five minutes on the clock.
Psg struck back three minutes later as Kylian Mbappe’s striker partner Ekitike drew level for the league leaders. Lens then went back into the lead for the second time two minutes before the half hour mark as Belgium Openda was found with a sweet pass from Lens Captain Fofana.
Lens then doubled their advantage three minutes into the second half as striker Openda who was the scorer of the second goal turned provider, his pass was met by Alex Claude-Maurice whose shot beat PSG goalkeeper Giangluigi Donnarumma as Lens went on to record their first win over PSG since 2006.
Kylian Mbappe could not do it alone as PSG really felt the absence of Lionel Messi and Neymar, the duo have a combined 38 goal contributions in the league this season.
The defeat also ended PSG Unbeaten run but still leaves the Paris based Club at the top of the standings with four points and they next play Châteaux in Coupe de France on Friday.
