Cyrus Logan, 16, has been detained by the Liberia National Police in connection with the horrific murder of Alpha Gray, better known as Abi, a 32-year-old purported sex worker.
Last week, Abi was discovered dead in a pool of blood inside an abandoned structure in the 704 Community on Duport Road.
She apparently suffered multiple chest and stomach stab wounds.
On January 10, FrontPageAfrica was informed by the police spokesman, Moses Carter, that the suspect was being held by police and will soon be charged and brought to court.
Cyrus agreed to paying the woman L$380 for sex but denied committing the crime during the initial police probe.
He stated that after receiving the amount, the deceased was not satisfied and allegedly called for attackers, which led to a struggle between him and the deceased.
Some accounts claim that Abi was a well-known sex worker who stole from her clients, while others claim that she was a family woman with three children—two boys and a girl—and that she was a family person.
According to family members, the youngest of Abi’s three children is a girl and is a little over two years old.
With support from the Liberian National Police, the remains of Alpha Gray were taken to the Johns F. Kennedy (JFK) Memorial hospital for further examination.
They were unable to confirm whether body parts had been removed from her. They remain hopeful, nonetheless, that the JFK results will help them grasp exactly what happened to cause her terrible death.
On Saturday, January 7, 2023, the victim’s remains were interred at the GSA road Zinnah Community cemetery.
Concerned about the unsolved circumstances surrounding their daughter’s death, her family is requesting justice.
