Former President Muhammadu Buhari acknowledges the immense difficulty of leading Nigeria, emphasizing that effective leadership necessitates the collaboration and backing of all citizens.
In a Sallah message released on Tuesday and signed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, the former president called upon Nigerians to extend their support to President Bola Tinubu’s new administration.
Titled “Ex-President Buhari Salutes Muslims on Eid Ul Adha and Wishes Muslims Successful Hajj,” the statement conveyed Buhari’s warm Eid greetings to Nigerian Muslims, as well as his wishes for a blessed Hajj pilgrimage and a safe return home for those undertaking it.
Buhari further expressed that leadership is an arduous responsibility that demands the sacrifices and support of the populace.
Having completed two terms totaling eight years, the former head of state from Katsina handed over power to Tinubu on May 29, 2023. Buhari had previously served as Nigeria’s military leader between December 1983 and August 1985.
