To support the vendors in the brand-new Nguru Ultra Modern market, Senate President Ahmad Lawan has donated N100 million to them.
In Nguru Town, Yobe’s Nguru Local Government Area, Lawan announced the donation at the market’s opening on Saturday.
The Nguru Emirate Council should strictly oversee the exercise, he added, and he asked the traders’ union leadership to be equitable and fair in how they distributed the funds to their members.

He also praised the state’s governor, Mai Mala Buni, for implementing two contemporary markets in his district and other workable projects.
He said: “Let me on behalf of this very important zone, Yobe zone ‘C’ express my gratitude to the Yobe governor.
“Your excellency, what you have done here is to give us a means of generating wealth, and employment opportunities for our youth and others.”
