The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress has announced Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the party’s consensus candidate for the presidential ticket.
Chairman Abdullahi Adamu made the announcement at the Party’s National Working Committee on Monday.
Despite protestations by some 11 Northern governors who are in support of a power shift to the south and others, Adamu insisted his decision is backed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He however insisted that the likes of VP Yemi Osinbajo, Bola Tinubu, etc can still contest when the primaries kick off on Tuesday.
