Jakande Estate/Isheri area of Lagos State was thrown into pandemonium on Thursday when a commercial motorcyclist ran over a pedestrian.
The motorcyclist derailed off his track and hit the passerby, resulting to instant death.
The situation got out of hand when irate onlookers pounced on the bike man and beat him to within an inch of his life.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, officers quickly got to the scene and averted a second death.
He added that the accident victim has been taken to the hospital, while the okada man is currently being resuscitated.
