Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has affirmed his administration’s unwavering backing for the Nigerian Navy.
He expressed the state’s willingness to allocate land for the establishment of additional naval bases.
During a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Nigerian Navy, headed by Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Governor Sanwo-Olu reassured the delegation of continuous support to bolster security and safeguard the lives and assets of the state’s residents.
He said: “It is important that we all see that both economically and security-wise, Lagos continues to remain home for all of us and for the economic growth of the country.
“We are also happy that you acknowledged all of our modest efforts at ensuring that you have land to develop your various base locations and to be able to enhance the security architecture of the state.
“We will ensure that whatever remains to consummate the formal handing over of those pieces of land is done quickly so that you can fully take possession and you can develop those security infrastructure and bases for your men.”
