The body of an unknown man who drowned while riding a jetski in the Lekki-Ikoyi inland waterways of Lagos State on Wednesday, has been found.
Local divers found the body on Friday morning, according to Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, general manager of the Lagos State Waterways Authority.
The victim drowned as a result of speeding, according to a statement released on Wednesday by Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.
The body had sunk too far for rescue, he said.
Emmanuel, however, said that as soon as the body was discovered, local divers alerted emergency services.
