Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League Manager of the Season.
The announcement of the accolade for Klopp was made at the 30th annual League Managers Association (LMA) Awards dinner.
Liverpool finished second on the log, with just a point behind Manchester City.
As of February 2022, Klopp’s men were 18 points behind Manchester City, but ended up closing the gap to just a point in a league run that went all the way to the final day.
Liverpool were able to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers while City came from two goals down to clinch the title in dramatic fashion.
For that and more, managers in the League voted the German as the best manager for the season.
Klopp took his side to 3 cup finals and have already won two, the League Cup and the FA Cup, beating Chelsea on both occasions to win them.
He will square up against the legendary Carlo Ancelotti this Saturday in Paris as their sides battle it out for the UEFA Champions League.
Reflecting on the climax to the Premier League season while accepting his award, Klopp said: “It was a bit nervy, it wasn’t the best outcome for us, but we are already over it.
“And when you win a prize like this you are either a genius, or you have the best coaching staff in the world. I am here with four of my coaching staff, and they know how much I appreciate them.”
