The Jigawa State Government has acquired 120,000 bags of NPK fertilizer, which will be distributed among the 43 retail stores throughout the state, and will be sold for N16,000 per bag.
During a meeting at the Government House Dutse, Governor Malam Umar Namadi emphasized the importance of preventing the diversion of subsidized fertilizer meant for farmers. He directed the distribution committee to oversee and monitor the sale of the subsidized fertilizer to farmers during the 2023 wet season farming.
The governor urged the committee members to demonstrate increased commitment and dedication to ensure that the fertilizer reaches the intended farmers at the subsidized price.
“You have to discharge your responsibilities with fairness and truth. Anybody found conniving with any group or individual to divert the commodity will be dealt with,” he said.
He said his administration is determined to make available agricultural inputs to the teeming farmers in Jigawa State.
