The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board(JAMB) has approved a new set of scores as cut-off marks into Nigerian higher institutions of learning.
The Board approved 140 as cut off mark for universities. While 100 is now the official cut-off mark for those seeking admission into polytechnics and colleges of education.
This was the decision taken at the 2022 Policy meeting on Admissions presided over by the Minister of Education in Abuja.
According to Channels TV, the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, who announced the cut-off after votes by vice chancellors of universities, rectors of polytechnics and provosts of colleges of education, said the implication is that every institution has the right to fix its own cut-off mark even up to 220.
