Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum is confident that the team will learn from the 1-0 loss to Mexico.
Mexico scored a 85th minute goal through Kiana Palacios to earn a narrow victory over the Nigerian team.
The Super Falcons have failed to win their last six games, but Waldrum insists they will learn from the loss to do better in their next match.
“It’s learning process for us. It was an opportunity to try new things. New ideas and new tactics,” Waldrum said after the game.
“We started the game strongly though they dominated the last 20 minutes of the first half.
“It’s always disappointing when you concede late in any game. We will learn from this defeat and prepare for our next game.
The Super Falcons will be back in action against Colombia in their second game of the competition on Saturday.
Waldrum has been criticised for the team’s performance, but he is expected to lead the Super Falcons to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
