An Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) staff has been caught distributing Permanent Voters Card(PVC) in Ondo State while wearing a Tinubu presidential election branded T shirt.
In a video shared on his official Twitter handle, investigative journalist and activist David Hundeyin of West Africa Week, in which he tagged INEC, the journalist demanded to know why an apparent Tinubu(frontline presidential candidate) supporter is tasked with distributing PVCs.
He listed the location as Ondo State, Local government-Akure South, ward -Ako Uro/Uro1, Location-Aquinas College, Hospital road.
While INEC is yet to reply, some Twitter users took to the micro blogging site to have a take on the matter.
@olacream28 wrote, “That’s my unit and I collected my card there yesterday those inec are short of staff most people that comes to collect their card volunteers in calling names I also help them calling names yesterday and I am not tinubu supporter”. Replying to @olacream28 tweet, Hundeyin wrote, “There is NO REASON for the only eligible “volunteer” to be an APC party agent. None.”
As the election draws near, INEC has been inaundated with calls from various political stakeholders to ensure a fair playing ground for all.
