On Saturday, some ex-Super Eagles paid a courtesy visit to Bola Ahmed Tinubu to endorse him his presidential ambition.
Former goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, former midfielders Jay-Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwanko, Victor Ikpeba and Taribo West (now a pastor) were all present.
Kanu in particular feels indebted to the former Lagos State Governor after the later was a major contributor to his treatment when he battled a heart problem back in the early 2000s.
However, many Nigerians saw their action as a show of sycophanticism, especially as Tinubu is seen by many as one of the problems of Nigeria.
Sowore, for instance labelled the action of the former Super Eagles as a hunt for food, noting that it is hunger that made them endorse Tinubu.

In a video clip, Pastor Taribo West could be seen making effervescent prayers for Tinubu, asking God to arrest the four corners of Nigeria so that the later emerges president.
