Nigerian First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari landed in the hospital after she allegedly joined the her security aides in beating up a young man who called her fat.
The victim, Aminu Muhammad, who is a 500 level student of the Federal University of Dutse allegedly said in a tweet he wrote in Hausa “Mama has eaten poor people’s money and is now full.”
According to reports by another tweep, @Jaafarsjaafar, a journalist, Mrs. Buhari who is 51, was taken to Cedercrest Hospital for treatment. Although Nigerian authorities continue to deny this is true.
The Jigawa State Police Command denied arresting the said 500 level student, while the DSS washed their hands clean of it. When reporters reached the Police Public Relations Officer for Jigawa State command, DSP Lawan Shiisu, he said he was not aware of the arrest, “We didn’t make the arrest. An arrest cannot be made in my area without me being informed.”
However, Jaafar said it was not only the student who was beaten, but a former aide to the First Lady also.
While Ms Kassim was released on the condition that she would not speak to the press, the final-year student may face trumped up charges of defamation. This is sad for democracy.

However Mr. Jaafar said, “From my findings, it was not SSS but plain-clothed policemen who arrested & tortured a final-year student @aminullahie and another lady named Zainab Kassim (a former social media aide to First Lady). The operation was engineered and executed by Aisha Buhari’s ADC Usman Shugaba.”
He added, “It may sound like a fairy tale, but the following is actually what transpired: the duo was beaten to a pulp in the presence of Mrs Buhari by 3 security aides. While Aminu and Ms Kassim were being beaten, the First Lady felt that they were not beating them well, so joined them. As she attempted to throw a kick, she slipped and fractured her leg.
“It was the injury she suffered during the assault that took her to Cedercrest Hospital for treatment. While Ms Kassim was released on the condition that she would not speak to the press, the final-year student may face trumped up charges of defamation. This is sad for democracy.”
