Some angry women from Evekwu community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have come out to protest the activities of herdsmen in their community.
The women group first marched to Rumuji Police Division, before retiring to the Palace of a traditional head to make their grievances known.
One of the group leaders, Ms. Joy Obisike said that the herders are destroying their farmlands using their cows, making it difficult for them to survive.
Another leader, Ms. Salome Amakanwo cries out that aside destroying their only means of livelihood, their women are often raped at gun point by the herders.
The group called on the council chairman, Governor Nyesom Wike and President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene or watch them take matters into their own hands.
The police directed them to take their grievances to the council chairman for proper redress.
