The chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Adamu Aliyu, has been killed in the Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja.
He was killed together with four other people near Daku village in Dobi, by some unknown gunmen on Thursday.
This was confirmed by Mohammed Usman, Secretary of MACBAN, who added that three persons were also abducted.
He said three others were injured and were taken to the hospital.
He added that the late chairman and 6 others were on their way back from Izom market in Niger State, when the attack happened.
“They were retuning from Izom market in Niger state where they went to sell cows, until just one kilometer to Daku village when the bandits suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, killing the MACBAN chairman and four others,” he said.
He gave the names of those killed as Saleh, Aliyu, Muhammadu and Saidu, saying they have been buried according to Islamic rites.
The deceased were buried the next day according to Islamic rites.
