Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has lifted the dawn-to-dusk curfew imposed in the state yesterday.
It was reported in the early hours of yesterday that Kano Government imposed a dawn-to-dark curfew in an effort to maintain law and order, after the alleged eruption of violence during the continuing compilation of the results of the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.
However, the commissioner for information and internal affairs — Muhammad Garba, announced the ease of the curfew in a statement released yesterday night.
Mr Garba said the decision to lift the curfew followed a careful review of the situation and the relative calm throughout Kano.
The commissioner called on commercial banks, public servants and the people in the state to continue their normal activities.
