Gabriel Martinelli has agreed a new contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2027.
The forward’s current contract expires at the end of next season, but the club did hold a two-year option, which would have allowed them to extend his deal until 2026.
However, the Brazilian has now agreed to fresh terms to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium. The draft deal is in the process of being finalised.
Martinelli has come to terms on a four-and-a-half-year agreement with the north London side.
The 21-year-old has impressed for his side this season. He has played 26 games for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring seven goals.
He has also helped Mikel Arteta’s team climb to the top of the Premier League. They are now aiming to win the title for the first time since 2004.
Arsenal take on Manchester City in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night. They then face Everton in the Premier League next weekend.
