Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele-Bello has become the latest Nollywood figure to venture into politics.
The likes of Desmond Elliott and Banky W have also joined politics, not forgetting Kenneth Okonkwo.
Funke who is popularly known as Jenifa announced on her official Instagram handle that she will be running mate to Olajide Adediran, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State.
In a 3 minutes plus video, she said, “I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child.
“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential,” she said in part.
However, towards the end of the clip, Funke whose ‘husband’ recently announced that he will be separating from her, called her name without attaching “Bello” to it.
