The French Development Agency(AFD) has donated €25 million to Northern Nigerian states for the improvement of power supply to the region.
However, the European Union are also helping with the project that will be carried out by Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
According to Gazette Nigeria, the project is meant to strengthen low-carbon economic growth in West Africa by improving the quality of the electricity network in Nigeria and supporting the development of a regional electricity market under the West African Power Pool.
Speaking at the signing of the agreement in Abuja, Clement Agba, Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, said the project was in line with the objectives of the National Development Plan 2021 to 2025.
