The Governor of Benue, Mr. Samuel Ortom has accused the Federal Government for abandoning internally displaced people.
Ortom said this while speaking at Journalist Hangout on Wednesday.
He said the task of feeding the displaced persons has now been left at the mercy of NGOs and faith organisations.
“It is unfortunate how the Federal Government has abandoned the Internally Displaced Persons who are in their millions in the camps to the mercy of the state government, NGO’s, Faith Based Organizations and good spirited individuals.
He added, “It is completely a situation that is out of place and there is very negative effect on the state and the nation in general.”
