Manchester City moved into the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup after beating Chelsea 4-0 at the Etihad stadium on Sunday night.
A fixture between both teams which came in the space of three days after Manchester City defeated the blues at Stamford bridge last Thursday saw City on the front foot in the early stages.
Riyard Mahrez scored his second goal against Chelsea in less than 72 hours after scoring a free kick in the 23rd minute to give Manchester City the lead.
Julian Alvarez then extended the home side lead from the penalty spot after Chelsea Striker Kai Havertz handled the ball in his box after a cross from a corner kick in the 30th minute.
Pep Guardiola’s Men then scored the third in the first half through England international Phil Foden seven minutes from halftime break.
Riyard Mahrez then scored his second of the game from another spot kick, the Algerian put the ball past Kepa after Koulibaly fouled Foden in the box in the 85th minute as City recorded their second straight victory over Chelsea in three days.
The win puts the Manchester based club into the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup and might potentially face English Premier League leaders Arsenal who travel to play Oxford United on Monday night.
