Manchester City reduced the gap to Leaders Arsenal to five points with a 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad on Thursday night.
Pep Guardiola’s men after coming from the back of a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime started strong at home.
City’s pressure for the first 45 minutes but couldn’t find an opening past Tottenham defense, the London side then took advantage of a defensive mix-up and Dejan Kulusevski slotted it past Ederson to get the lead.
Spurs were two up two minutes later, Harry Kane’s cross was parried by Ederson and Emerson Royal headed in from close range as the away side went into halftime with a two-goal lead.
Julian Alvarez halves the deficit six minutes after the break, firing powerfully into the roof of the net past Hugo Lloris.
Man City then leveled matters two minutes later as Riyad Mahrez’s header was converted by Erling Haaland who extended his league tally to 22 from 18 games.
Turnaround complete for the hosts, Riyad Mahrez beat Hugo Lloris at his near post as Manchester City took the lead for the first time on the 63rd minute.
Riyad Mahrez later got his second of the night, calmly lifting over Hugo Lloris and into the net in the 90th minute to help Manchester City defeat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2.
