Liverpool recored their second premier League win after the world Cup break, beating Leicester City 2-1 at Anfield on Friday night.
Jurden Klopp’s men went into the encounter on gameweek 17 knowing that a win would take them within a point of fifth place Manchester United and two points off two four.
Leciester broke the deadlock just five minutes into the match as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The 25-year-old was set up by teammate Patson Daka after a quick counter.
Liverpool’s pressure saw Leicester City’s summer signing Wout Faes scored an own goal after unintentional passing the ball.inot his own net on the 38th minutes as Liverpool restored parity seven minutes from the Halftime break.
Wout Faes then scored another Own goal, this time was trying to defend a pass only for the ball to end up in his own net just at the blink of halftime to give Liverpool a 2-1 lead into the break.
A second half which didn’t see much, saw Liverpool held on to record their second victory in four days as the red moved a point behind fifth place Manchester United who play Wolves on Saturday lunchtime.
