Chelsea began the weekend’s Premier League action with a 1-1 draw against fellow Londoners West Ham United at the London stadium on Saturday lunchtime.
The Hammers come into the game having defeated Everton and earned a draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League but still sit 17th in the table. Chelsea, on the other hand, are in ninth place and 10 points away from a Champions League qualification spot having picked up a win against Crystal Palace and draws with Liverpool and Fulham.
Chelsea’s early dominance paid off as Mudryk challenged Bowen, who went down. No foul, though. Fernandez takes up possession 30 yards out on the left. He loops a cross over the West Ham back line. Felix springs it, and sidefoots the dropping ball past the helpless Fabianski to give the away side a one goal lead in the 16th minute.
West Ham then find their way back into the game through defender Coufal who crosses from the right. Bowen eyebrows it on. Emerson races in at the far post and scuffs a shot across Kepa and into the bottom right to level things for the host two minutes before the hour mark.
West Ham found the back of the net eight minutes before time through Midfielder Soucek but his goal was ruled out by the VAR for Offside.
The result leaves Chelsea in ninth position with 31 points from 22 games while West Ham United moved to 15th on 20 points.
