Arsenal rallies from a goal down to beat fellow Londoners Westham United 3-1 on Monday night to stretch their lead at the top of the premier League table table to seven points.
The gunners who entered into the encounter with five points above second place Manchester City started brightly at the Emirates as Bukayo Saka’s goal was disallowed for offisde in the fifth minute.
Westham then find their way into the game as Arsenal and France defender William Saliba conceded a penalty kick for the hammers after bringing down West Ham United’s Michelle Antonio in the 27th minutes.
Algerian Said Benrahma then converted the spot kick, sending the England international Aaron Ramsdale the wrong way will slotting the ball into the middle of the net as Westham too a shock lead into halftime at the Emirates.
Arsenal then found their foot back unit the game as Captain Martin Ødegaard set up Bukayo Saka to draw parity for the host eight minutes into the second half.
Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli then completed the comeback for Mikel Arteta’s men five minutes later, collecting Granit Xhaka’s pass from the edge of the box and scoring from Fabiaski’s near post to give Arsenal a 2-1 lead.
Eddie Nketiah who came in for first choice striker Gabriel Jesus after the Brazilian picked up a knee injury at the World Cup in Qatar, put Arsenal in total control of the tie, meeting with Ben White’s pass and shouting the ball into the button right corner.
The goal was Enough as Arsenal held on to a 3-1 victory in front of Club Legend Arsene Wenger who was amongst spectators at the Emirates.
