Once again, the Enugu State Government has appealed to its residents to disregard the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra for Monday.
The government has emphasized that normal business activities should continue, reiterating its previ prohibition of the sit-at-home directive.
Prof. Onyia, the Secretary to the State Government, reiterated that observing the sit-at-home order is illegal and Governor Peter Mbah had warned that any business failing to open on that day would face the risk of permanent closure.
The SSG said: “The Enugu State Government wishes to remind the good people and residents of the state that the ban on the illegal Monday sit-at-home order remains effective.
“Given this, civil servants, schools, markets, financial institutions, business premises, and others are hereby directed to resume normal activities on Monday.”
“Markets that fail to open to customers on Monday shall be shut down indefinitely, and shops in the markets that close on Monday shall be sealed and re-allocated to those eager to do business in the state.
“The government extends the same warning of sanctions against schools, financial institutions, shopping malls, department stores, business premises, and others that may defy its directive,” Onyia added.
