The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says operatives of its Enugu zonal command have arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters, also known as “Yahoo Boys” in the state.
Five (5) expensive cars, twenty five (25) mobile phones of different brands and seven laptops were the items recovered from the suspects by the EFCC.
A statement issued on Wednesday, September 21 by EFCC Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, based on verified intelligence about their suspicious internet-related activities.
Uwujaren gave the names of the suspects as Victor Odinaka Itodo, Opara Jacob Chukwuanayo, Emmanuel Ozioma Ifeanyi, Ibeh Chisom, Godswill Chiemerie, Okafor Amarachukwu , Victor Chinaecherem Okoro, Franklin Anosike and Itodo Jude Chigozie.
“Items recovered from them are five vehicles, 25 mobile phones of different brands and seven laptops,” the statement added.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
