Tafila village, a community near Gwada town in Shiroro Local government has been allegedly attacked by gunmen.
The attack was said to have taken place around 6:30pm on Saturday evening.
Sources said the attack left two women killed including two kids of which one of them was the child of one of the deceased women.
One of the children’s skull was shattered as it received a bullet to the head.
It was gathered that the gunmen raided the village on bikes, with every bike carrying AK-47-wielding passengers. They fired randomly at dwellers, leaving many of the internally displaced people common in the community injured.
Others were captured and led away into nearby bushes, while many cattle were also rustled.
The village is just 20 minutes away from the Shiroro Dam and 30 minutes from the capital of Niger State, Minna.
According to a statement by the Police, “On 16/04/2022 at about 1900hrs, information was received that armed bandits attacked Kaduna village via Gwada, Shiroro LGA.
“Police tactical team and other security agencies with vigilante were mobilized to the area and the hoodlums were repelled.
“However, details of the incident are still sketchy while reinforcement has been dispatched to Gwada and normalcy has been restored,” the statement added.
