Delta State University lecturer, Professor Ovaborhene Idamoyibo has died upon his release from captivity.
This is coming about week after his abduction by kidnappers. They had requested N50 million as ransom but according to sources, they were paid N3 million.
DSP Bright Dafe, who is the Spokesperson of the Delta Police Command said he was kidnapped around Eku-Abraka last week Saturday and released on Sunday by Abraka bridge.
He added that the late HOD of the Department of Music was dropped off in a very poor health condition as he was diabetic.
“When he was released on Sunday, they dropped him close to the Abraka bridge. He was very feeble,” the source said.
Those who came to pick him up rushed him to several hospitals, Vanguard confirms, but he eventually died.
