Following the sack of some 20 Cross River lawmakers yesterday, the Federal High Court Abuja will on Friday proceed to decide the fate of Governor Ben Ayade for abandoning the PDP for the APC.
In a suit filed FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021, Emmanuel Ukala, the People’s Democratic Party counsel is seeking an order to sack Ayade and his deputy for leaving the party for the All Progressives Congress.
Aside Ayade, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi is also facing facing same fate. However, the laters fate has already been decided.
Ayade’s fate and that of his deputy, who both left the PDP for the APC on May 20, 2021, will be ruled on this Friday, after the court confirmed the date on Tuesday.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo who ruled on the fate of the lawmakers on Monday, rejected the claim by the defence attorney that his clients left for the APC due to to unrest in the PDP, labelling such as a ploy to fool the court.
