France international forward, Christopher Nkunku has sealed his move to join English Premier Club Chelsea from German bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
The 25-year-old Frenchman signed for Chelsea in a package worth €70m with his contract starting from July 2023.
According to reports from Top Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, all documents have been signed and sealed by both clubs and from the player’s side.
Christopher Nkunku caught the eyes of Chelsea football club after a stellar season in RB Leipzig’s colors during the 2020/2021 season where the former psg man was voted RB Leipzig’s player of the season after scoring 20 league goals and providing 13 assists in 34 appearances in the bundesliga.
The player also has four Champions League goals in six games, including a Hat-trick at the Etihad stadium the home of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City after a 6-3 trashing.
Nkunku picked up from where he stopped last season, the Paris born player has also notched in 12 goals from 15 league outings and three goals plus one assist in six champion league appearances this season.
His recent run of form earned him a call up to the France national team ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.Nkunku’s debut World Cup campaign was then put in jeopardy as he picked up an ankle injury days before France’s first match against Australia which automatically ruled him out of the World Cup.
The move to Chelsea makes him Todd Boles latest summer signings after the Chelsea owner have earlier secured the signature of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Carney Chukwemeka and Gabriel Slovenia since taking over the club from Legendary owner Roman Abramovich.
