Chelsea are reportedly set to sign Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven after a big-money offer sparked the move into life. The Blues, backed by wealthy co-owner Todd Boehly, have already spent heavily during the January transfer window with five signings bedding in at Stamford Bridge.
A lucrative summer blowout saw Chelsea fans welcome a host of stars to west London. Their transfer strategy has become even more apparent during the January window, however, with a raft of youngsters introduced to manager Graham Potter’s squad.
Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana are both touted as ones to watch while Benoit Badiashile, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix – all under the age of 23 – are expected to play prominent roles in the starting XI this campaign.
According to Dutch outlet ED, Madueke is set to be the latest in a long line of starlets as the Blues’ £35million offer looks to have done the trick. The report adds that Chelsea will ‘definitely’ sign the former Tottenham youth prospect, who has scored 20 goals in 80 appearances for PSV.
Negotiations supposedly moved quickly on Thursday after the Premier League outfit lodged their most recent offer and PSV have accepted the proposal. Madueke can play in attacking midfield or on the wing, with Potter now spoilt for choice in attacking areas.
