Chelsea fell to yet another defeat on Wednesday night when 13 time Champions League winners, Real Madrid came visiting.
It was Thomas Tuchel’s first back to back defeat at Stamford Bridge since April last season.
And the defeat came at the hands of former Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti, with Karim Benzema getting all the goals for the Spanish giant.
Kai Havertz got halved the deficit in the first half only for Benzema to get his third on the night early in the second half, after Mendy failed to deal with a back pass.
Substitute, Romelu Lukaku came close to making it 2:3, but he could only direct his header wide of Courtois’ goal.
Chelsea will hope to overturn this two goal deficit when they travel to the Santiago Bernabeu in the coming week. But with the way they played tonight, it is going to be a tall task.
