Following the announcement made earlier this month that the tolling operations will resume at the Lekki tollgate on April 1st, 2022, Comedian, Mr Macaroni, has revealed that residents of Lekki Estate in a meeting with the Lekki Concession Company rejected the resumption of tolling operations at the toll gate.
In a tweet, Mr Macaroni said, “We are live at the LCC and StakeHolders Meeting. The Lekki Estate Residents and Stakeholders Association Chairman has announced the decision of all Residents which is NO TO TOLLING!!!!!”
On his part, human rights activist and social media influencer, Deji Adeyanju posted on Facebook saying, “Keep the Tollgate open and free or we will shut it down again. We say no to collection of N500m daily blood money. #EndSARS”
Majority of Nigerians are averse to the idea of resuming tolling operations at the site where many innocent Nigerians were brutally murdered for protesting against police brutally back in October 2020.
