A flight carrying 38 Nigerians touched down in the early hours on Thursday at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos from Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The deportees are said to be grandmothers and nursing mothers, as well as members of the LGBTQ community, who had sought asylum in the Kingdom.
Despite their claims to have lived in United Kingdom for many years, an official from the foreign Affairs ministry stated that the most were said to have violated immigration laws of UK, leading to their deportation.
A Twitter handle @justice_forum, dedicated to monitoring illegal immigration in the UK welcomed the deportation on it’s timeline by tweeting a flight path picture of the outbound flight with the message “Small beginnings”.
