Sunny Oche, a leading aspirant for the Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency seat from Benue State, has reportedly been kidnapped.
Sunny Oche was said to have been whisked away by some unknown gunmen from his hotel room at the Double K Resort, Otukpo LGA of Benue State in the early hours of sunday.
This was disclosed by the DG of Sunny Oche’s campaign council, Lawrence Oduh in a short post on his facebook page.
He wrote, “BREAKING NEWS!
“Unknown gunmen kidnapped Hon. Sunny Oche in his hotel room at Double K’ Resort this morning and whisked him to an unknown destination.
“Please, pray for the safe release of Hon. Oche.”
However, in one of the comments to the post by Lawrence, another person by the name, Udu Fred, said the national assembly aspirant was not kidnapped, but only invited by the police on the orders of the Inspector General of Police.
He did not state the reason for the reason.
There is yet to be an official or authentic reaction to the true picture of the story, our correspondent placed a call to the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, Catherine Anene, but the line was not reachable as at the time of filing this report.
Recall that only recently, a lecturer with Veritas University Abuja, was also kidnapped by some hoodlums in the same Otukpo.
