Before it aired on Sunday, January 8 at 8 p.m., Anderson Cooper claims Buckingham Palace insisted on seeing his interview with Prince Harry.
Prior to the publication of Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” the “60 Minutes” correspondent spoke with the Duke of Sussex.
During their conversation, they discussed the passing of Princess Diana, his conflict with his brother, Prince William, and the animosity that his wife, Meghan Markle, has sparked among the royal family.
Cooper acknowledged at the end of the interview that “60 Minutes” had contacted the palace for response.
He said: “Its officials demanded that ’60 Minutes’ supply them with our article before showing it tonight so that they might consider responding.”
The program, he continued, had vehemently denied showing the palace the interview ahead of time.
