Nigerian singer, Bankole Wellington, better known as Banky W, has won the People’s Democratic Party House of Representatives ticket for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos.
The primary election victory was a rerun of last week’s primaries that were cancelled.

The 41-year-old singer joined the party earlier this year and on Monday, was able to garner 24 votes to defeat his opponent, Samuel Aiboni, who pulled only 4 votes.
In last week’s primaries, Banky W got 27 votes to Aiboni’s 2. However, a standoff between the two candidates made the party’s leadership to cancel the polls and reschedule for this week.
The singer stands a good chance to win the general elections next year.
