Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems, has missed out on the opportunity to scoop an award at the 95th edition of the Academy Awards. Tems was nominated for the 2023 edition of the Oscars in the category of Best Original Song courtesy of a collaboration she had the song, “Lift Me Up” with popular singer, Rihanna; music producer, Ludwig Göransson; and Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler.However, she lost the award to ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’, which is composed by MM Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose and vocals by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.
