Rauf Aregbesola, Nigeria’s minister of interior has called on the states in the country to fast-track decongestion across correctional centres under their jurisdictions. The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has denied claims that supplementary elections for the presidential and National Assembly elections will hold alongside gubernatorial and state assembly elections scheduled for tomorrow.This was contained in statement released by the commission on Friday evening.The Commission said the supplementary elections will be held on a later date that will be disclosed by INEC.The statement titled’Conduct of Supplementary Elections’ read, “The Commission has not scheduled the conduct of supplementary elections arising from the Presidential and National Assembly elections. For clarity, the supplementary elections will take place on a date to be announced.”
