Ugandan lawmakers have passed a law that prescribes a punishment of up to 10 years in prison for identifying as LGBTQ+, among other things. The new legislation constitutes a further crackdown on LGBTQ+ people in a country where same-sex relations are already illegal. The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has finally declared Alex Otti as the winner of last Saturday’s governorship election. The former managing director of Diamond Bank now Access Bank, who was the candidate of Labour Party in the governorship election, had in a video posted on his official Twitter handle on Saturday evening, said PDP were trying to rig the election in their favour.
