The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, said it returned the sum of One Billion, Five Hundred and Fifty Million Naira, to the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS on February 10, 2022. Following the receipt of “credible intelligence” on their activities, twenty nine (29) suspected internet fraudsters, also known as “Yahoo Boys” were on Thursday, arrested by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. In his third day of ongoing humanitarian activities in Gamboru border town of Ngala Local Government Area, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum on Tuesday, ordered the construction of new barracks for the Police, and Immigration, and this is despite that the both institutions are under the Federal Government. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has embarked on four weeks warning strike. The President of the Union, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, made the announcement at a press meeting on Monday, 14th February, 2022. “We don’t like to see our students at home. We don’t want our academic calendars disrupted but our demands are not met,” he added. The Zamfara state police have rescued some kidnapped victims who were abducted in Niger state. This was made known by Muhammad Shehu, the Public Relations Officer of the police, on Sunday. “The victims were abducted in Kontagora and Bangi Local Government areas of Niger on February 6 and February 9, 2022 respectively,” he said.
